The Federal University of Technology, Akure, has been adjudged the best university in South-West Nigeria, while its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Fuwape, emerged the best VC in the zone at the second edition of the South West Education Award and Lecture held at the Redeemer’s University in Ede, Osun State on Tuesday. Also, the VC of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Prof. Michael Ologunde and the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Dr Dayo Ladipe, bagged Vice-Chancellor and Rector of the year at ceremony. This was as Prof. Olubunmi Akinola of Obafemi Awolowo University, picked the prize of Outstanding Lecturer of the Year. Oyo state government has said only the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology governing council has the right to increase student’s tuition fees. In an interview with journalists on Thursday Commissioner for information, Culture and Tourism, TOYE ARULOGUN said the governing council must have critically looked at the situation before such a decision was taken. The authorities of  Ladoke Akintola University of Technology   (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho wishes to inform all students of the institution that due to the Easter holidays coming up on Friday April 14 and  Monday April 17, the Computer Based examinations slated for those two days have been rescheduled. The examinations will hold on Friday April 21 and Monday April 24, 2017. The time, venues and students’ groupings remain the same. All other examinations are to proceed as scheduled. The batch of students affected, as well as, invigilators are to take note.
