Undergraduate students of the University Ibadan have been told to go on mid-semester break after they staged a peaceful protest on Monday at the school premises.

Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor IDOWU OLAYINKA made the announcement on Monday during a live broadcast on the institution’s outfit, Diamond FM, amid the protest embarked upon by the undergraduate students.

There had been complaints from the students about poor welfare condition on the campus ahead of their forth coming exams which prompted the protest.

Meanwhile Professor OLAYINKA also announced that the forth coming exam for Undergraduates has been postponed till July 17, while postgraduate students are to continue with their lectures.

Reports say the Oyo State Police Command had earlier admonished the students against protesting outside the campus or destroying public property during the planned protest.
