Federal College Of Forestry Jericho Ibadan Embarks on Sensitisation Walk and Tree Planting Exercise to Mark World Environment Day




Provost Federal College Of Forestry Jericho Ibadan, Dr Mrs MORENIKE OJO has called for mass tree planting exercise in the country to avoid environmental degradation.

Dr OJO made this know while speaking to Inspiration Fm correspondent ahead of the World Environment Day (WED).


The Don lamented that consistent Deforestation has contributed to environmental hazards, which includes Erosion and flooding which has displaced many Nigerians as well destroyed many farm produce.


She however noted that as part of Social Responsibility of the institution, it will be staging a road walk on Monday June 5th to raise awareness on protecting the nature which will also include tree planting exercise to mark the World Environment Day .






The United Nations has set aside every 5th day of June to commemorate the World Environment Day and the theme for this year is Connecting People with Nature.
