TASUED Mid-Session Break for 2016/2017 Academic Session.

The Vice Chancellor of  Tai Solarin University of Education  (TASUED), Ijagun and the Members of the Senate at its emergency meeting held on Tuesday, 13th June, 2017 has approved that all students should embark on two weeks break as from Wednesday, 14th June, 2017. This is to enable them to prepare properly for their second semester examination. The Senate in particular and the Vice Chancellor wishes them best of luck in their forthcoming examinations. Federal College of Forestry Jericho Ibadan takes tree planting campaign and nature protection to the streets

The management of the Federal College of Forestry Jericho Ibadan staged an awareness campaign on Monday to raise awareness on protecting the nature and continuous tree planting exercise in the country.  The awareness campaign was part of events lined up by institution to mark the world environment day organised  by the United Nations.  Addressing traders during a stopover at the popular Aleshinloye market, the Provost FCF Jericho Ibadan, DR MRS MORENIKE OJO charged the populace to imbibe the culture of clean environment and afforestation to avoid environmental crises.  Reacting, the Iyaloja of Ibadan land, CHIEF MRS LABAKE LAWAL noted that more awareness campaign must be embarked upon by government, non-governmental organizations and institutions to popularise the importance of tree planting and protecting the nature.                           ...

Federal College Of Forestry Jericho Ibadan Embarks on Sensitisation Walk and Tree Planting Exercise to Mark World Environment Day

Provost Federal College Of Forestry Jericho Ibadan, Dr Mrs MORENIKE OJO has called for mass tree planting exercise in the country to avoid environmental degradation. Dr OJO made this know while speaking to Inspiration Fm correspondent ahead of the World Environment Day (WED). The Don lamented that consistent Deforestation has contributed to environmental hazards, which includes Erosion and flooding which has displaced many Nigerians as well destroyed many farm produce. She however noted that as part of Social Responsibility of the institution, it will be staging a road walk on Monday June 5th to raise awareness on protecting the nature which will also include tree planting exercise to mark the World Environment Day . The United Nations has set aside every 5 th day of June to commemorate the World Environment Day and the theme for this year is Connecting People with Nature. UI PROTEST ; UI VC ORDERS STUDENTS OUT OF HOSTEL,UNDERGRADUATE EXAM POSTPONED TILL 17TH JULY

Undergraduate students of the University Ibadan have been told to go on mid-semester break after they staged a peaceful protest on Monday at the school premises.                                   Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor IDOWU OLAYINKA made the announcement on Monday during a live broadcast on the institution’s outfit, Diamond FM, amid the protest embarked upon by the undergraduate students. There had been complaints from the students about poor welfare condition on the campus ahead of their forth coming exams which prompted the protest. Meanwhile Professor OLAYINKA also announced that the forth coming exam for Undergraduates has been postponed till July 17, while postgraduate students are to continue with their lectures. Federal College of Agriculture, Moore Plantation Ibadan Matriculates Over Five Hundred Fresh Students

Over five hundred fresh students on Tuesday took oath of allegiance as bonafide students of Federal College of Agriculture, Moore Plantation Ibadan during the 2016/2017 matriculation ceremony held at the school`s main hall . Charging the matriculants , the Executive Provost of the institution Dr BABAJIDE ADELEKAN said the students must shun every vices that can distract them  From their primary assignment  on the campus. LAUTECH students lock out UTME candidates

Students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH), Ogbomosho  on Monday  morning shut the gates of the institution against UTME candidates scheduled to write their examination during the week. The gates were locked after students leaders held a congress by 5am and resolved that the school will be lock-down  and no Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination will hold until their demands are met. The demands include, a comprehensive academic calendar, commencement of lectures and a permanent resolution of the crisis in the institution. Unless the demands are met, the student leaders said t hey will continue to protest and ensure a total shutdown of the institution. The student leaders said the aim of the development  was to get the attention of the federal government on the plight of the institution.

Student in prison for stealing phone

A Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday in Abuja sentenced a student, David Out, 20, to three weeks imprisonment for stealing a phone. The Magistrate, Mr Mohammed Tahir, sentenced Otu after he pleaded guilty. The convict was however, given an option to pay a fine of N15, 000. Tahir said that the punishment was to make Otu to change his life of crime. Otu, a student of Dutse-Jabu Village in the FCT, was convicted on a charge of stealing. Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Otu Urom, said that one Mrs Kenechukwu Keneth of Anchor Estate on Airport Road reported the mater at the Wuse Police Station on April 30. He said that the convict entered All Saint’s Church at Wuse Zone 5, pretending to have come for devotion only to steal a phone. Urom said that the convict during a prayer session removed the complainant’s phone, valued at N285, 000 from her bag and vanished. He said that during police investigation the convict confessed to stealing the phone...
